1. Who we are
KARTER ("we", "us") operates karter.ie. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@karter.ie.
2. What we collect
When you place an order we collect your name, email address, phone number and delivery address. When you contact us we keep your message and contact details. We also collect basic technical data (such as pages visited) through cookies — see section 6.
3. Why we use your data
We use your data to process and deliver your orders, respond to your messages, meet our legal obligations (such as accounting), and — only if you agree — to send occasional updates about new arrivals. We never sell your data.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers needed to run the shop: our hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and delivery couriers (who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order). All providers process data under GDPR-compliant agreements.
5. How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as required by Irish tax law (currently 6 years). Contact messages are kept for up to 2 years. You can ask us to delete data we are not legally required to keep at any time.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to make the shop work (for example, remembering your bag). With your consent, we may also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can accept or refuse non-essential cookies in the cookie banner, and clear cookies at any time in your browser settings.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@karter.ie. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
